The Helping Hand Foundation, founded by Ashutosh Kashyap, is an NGO committed to serving the underprivileged. Inspired by the struggles he faced during childhood and the values instilled in him by his parents, Ashutosh has always been motivated to help others. His journey began during his 10th grade, where he started offering small acts of kindness. However, it wasn’t until the COVID-19 pandemic struck that the vision for a larger initiative became a reality. Ashutosh, along with his friends, pooled their pocket money to provide essential supplies like food and water to those in dire need, marking the beginning of a larger movement.
Diverse Initiatives to Empower the Underprivileged
The Helping Hand Foundation has since grown into a well-organized NGO with a range of initiatives aimed at uplifting the less fortunate. Their focus areas include education for slum children, where they provide learning resources and support. They also work extensively on support for the poor by distributing essential supplies and raising awareness about government schemes to ensure people have access to the resources they are entitled to. In addition, they engage in environmental initiatives, such as tree plantation drives, and conduct animal welfare activities. The foundation also organizes cleanliness drives and employment support camps, helping the unemployed find work opportunities.
Celebrating Festivals with the Community
One of the hallmarks of the Helping Hand Foundation is its focus on inclusivity through festival celebrations. For instance, during Raksha Bandhan, they organize rakhi-tying ceremonies, and on Independence Day, they host flag-hoisting events and distribute sweets. During Diwali, the team lights diyas and shares festive treats with the community. Similarly, on Holi, they bring joy by celebrating the festival of colors with everyone. These efforts ensure that the underprivileged also get to partake in the joy and celebration of festivals.

Continuing to Make an Impact
The Helping Hand Foundation remains dedicated to making a lasting impact through their various ongoing efforts. Every Sunday, they distribute food packets to those in need. Recently, they undertook a significant tree plantation drive, planting over 20,000 saplings as part of their larger goal of planting one lakh trees. The foundation is committed to bringing about positive change, one act of kindness at a time.
