Himachal Hopes High as Yogini Nidhi Aims for Khelo India Glory
Sixteen-year-old Nidhi Dogra from Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, is the only yogasana athlete representing her state at the Khelo India Youth Games 2025 in Gaya, Bihar. She has earned multiple national medals and set six world records, training at Karm Yoga Shala under the mentorship of her father. Her bronze at SGFI earned her a spot at KIYG. She credits the Khelo India Asmita League for her exposure and growth. Despite previous health setbacks, she is determined to win Himachal’s first yogasana medal and inspire others in her state.


Swimmer Manavi Verma Shines for Karnataka at KIYG 2025
Manavi Verma played a key role in Karnataka’s strong showing at KIYG 2025, winning three gold and one silver medal. At just 16, this marks her third appearance at the games. Training at Dolphin Aquatics in Bengaluru, she’s shown steady progress since her 2022 bronze. She also set records at the 2023 National Games and represented India at the World Junior Championships. Her mother’s disciplined parenting and family support were vital to her success. Manavi balances her academics while keeping swimming her top focus.

KIYG 2025: Nature and Sachin Clinch Fencing Gold
Rajasthan’s Nature Sharma and Haryana’s Sachin secured gold medals in the women’s sabre and men’s foil categories, respectively, during the fencing competitions at the Khelo India Youth Games 2025. Nature trained at NCOE Patiala and defeated top-seed Ambika Devi en route to her 15-12 final win. Both athletes credited rigorous training and coaching for their success, contributing to their states’ medal counts.

Lucknow NCOE Athlete Eishengba Gogoi Breaks National Youth Record at KIYG 2025
Assam’s Eishengba Gogoi won gold in the 55kg weightlifting event, setting a new youth national record with a 183kg total lift. Trained at SAI’s NCOE Lucknow under coach Rahul Sharma, Eishengba bounced back after missing a medal last year. He matched the youth world snatch record with an 81kg lift and exceeded the previous national total mark. His goal now is to qualify for the Commonwealth Youth trials this August.
