In 1923, India celebrated its first Labour Day, in Chennai. Labour day is an important event was led by the Labour Kisan Party of Hindustan, highlighting the need to recognize workers’ rights and voices. Over time, the day has gained greater importance and is commonly referred to as ‘Kamgar Din’ in Hindi. Across different states, the occasion is marked by cultural activities, educational events, and awareness drives that honor the spirit and contribution of the working class. It is a powerful occasion that promotes unity, equality, and dignity among the labor force.
