BSSA Provides International Exposure to 12 Coaches at India vs Brazil Friendly Match

Patna, 4 October 2026: The Bihar State Sports Authority (BSSA) took an important step towards strengthening the professional development of sports coaches by facilitating an international exposure visit for 12 coaches from Eklavya Sports Centres and BSSA. The coaches attended the India vs Brazil International Friendly Match on 3 October 2026 at Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata. The opportunity allowed them to experience a major international football event and observe the game beyond the boundaries of routine coaching sessions.

Learning from International Football

Watching a high-level match in person gave the coaches an opportunity to closely observe different aspects of modern football. Player positioning, tactical movements, team coordination, communication on the field and decision-making under pressure were among the key areas that could be studied during the match. Such experiences can help coaches understand how professional teams prepare for competitive situations and manage players during an important international fixture. The exposure also provided a practical learning environment that cannot always be recreated through classroom-based coaching programmes.

Building Professional Coaching Skills

International exposure can play an important role in improving the knowledge and confidence of coaches. By observing the organisation, match-day operations and overall management of a major football event, the coaches were able to gain a broader understanding of professional sporting practices. These observations can later be adapted to local training environments according to the needs of young and developing athletes in Bihar. The initiative reflects BSSA’s focus on continuous learning and capacity building for coaches working across the state.

Strengthening Bihar’s Sporting Ecosystem

The 12 participating coaches were Shatrughan Singh, Md Danish Ahmad, Ruben Soren, Shyam Kumar Chaudhari, Baby Kumari, Mamta Kumari, Santosh Kumar, Pinki Kumari, MD Afzal Alam, Shyama Rani, Julee Kumari and Md Mahtab Alam. BSSA expressed its appreciation to the All-India Football Federation (AIFF) for its cooperation and support in making the exposure opportunity possible. The authority also acknowledged Shri Kalyan Chaubey, President, AIFF, for his valuable support.

Such initiatives can help connect grassroots coaching with wider sporting practices and encourage coaches to bring new ideas into their training programmes. BSSA’s continued focus on exposure, learning and professional development can contribute to building a stronger, better-equipped and more scientifically oriented sporting ecosystem in Bihar.
