Ayush Kumar’s dedication guided Bihar to win a silver medal in Sepak Takraw.

Patna: At just 14 years old, Ayush Kumar has shown remarkable courage. Hours after losing his grandfather, Ayush played in the finals of the Sepak Takraw event at Khelo India Youth Games 2025. Hiding his sorrow, he stood strong for Bihar and helped the team win a historic silver medal.

His sister Khushboo shared that their grandfather was very close to them and was unwell for some time. Despite the loss, Ayush showed incredible spirit on the court and became an inspiration for many. Coming from a humble background, Ayush and 19-year-old Khushboo have been playing this sport for only four years.

In the final match, Bihar lost 1-2 to Manipur but created a new chapter in the state’s sports history.

Gaya’s Anshu Leads Bihar to Five Medals in Gatka

Gaya: The IIM campus in Gaya buzzed with energy as the traditional martial art of Gatka took the spotlight.
Bihar’s sportspersons stood out by securing a total of five medals in the event.

School students also watched the event with excitement. Zainab Parveen, an eighth-grade student, said she felt inspired to try Gatka herself after watching the players.

Kabaddi and Hockey Excite Fans at Rajgir Sports Complex

Rajgir: The seventh edition of the Khelo India Youth Games began with an impressive opening ceremony in Rajgir.

Kabaddi Highlights:

  • Haryana girls defeated Rajasthan 43-29.
  • Andhra Pradesh boys thrashed Karnataka 50-30.
  • Uttar Pradesh girls beat Bihar 38-27.
  • Maharashtra boys overcame Bihar 46-30.
    Bihar’s Roshan Kumar and the girls’ team won hearts with their strong fighting spirit despite the losses.

Hockey Highlights:

  • Jharkhand girls beat Maharashtra 3-0.
  • Odisha girls defeated Bihar 5-0.
  • Karnataka boys crushed Bihar 6-0.
  • Odisha boys beat Punjab 5-2.
