Supermodel Milind Soman and fitness enthusiast Ankita Konwar were honoured at the NDTV Who’s Next 2025 Awards in Mumbai. The couple has gained recognition as a leading fitness influence across generations in India.

At the ceremony, Milind Soman received the Fitness Icon of the Year Award. Ankita Konwar was conferred the Millennial Fitness Icon of the Year Award. The recognition highlights their sustained efforts in promoting fitness as a lifestyle.

Milind Soman’s Enduring Fitness Legacy
Milind Soman has played a transformative role in redefining fitness narratives in India. He has consistently advocated discipline, balance, and long-term well-being over quick results. His approach emphasizes accessibility and age-inclusive fitness practices.
In 2012, Milind Soman founded Pinkathon, India’s largest women’s running movement. The initiative was created to encourage women to prioritize health and preventive care. Pinkathon also raises awareness about breast cancer and early detection. Over the years, Pinkathon has reached more than half a million women nationwide. The movement spans cities including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. It has facilitated free breast screenings for thousands of women. The initiative has raised over ₹1 crore for treating underprivileged cancer patients.
Pinkathon also welcomes first-time runners through inclusive formats. These include the Saree Run, Grandmothers’ Run, and Babywearing Mothers’ Walk. Such formats ensure participation regardless of age, background, or fitness level. Speaking on the recognition, Milind Soman highlighted the importance of consistency in fitness.

Ankita Konwar’s Influence on Millennial Wellness
Ankita Konwar has emerged as a strong voice for mindful fitness among younger audiences. Her work focuses on women’s health, endurance, and mental resilience. She encourages women to listen to their bodies and prioritize self-care.
In 2023, Ankita Konwar founded the Invincible Women initiative. The platform promotes health awareness through endurance-based running events. The Invincible Women’s Run is India’s first women-only ultramarathon. The initiative includes ultra-distances of 50 kilometers, 75 kilometers, and 100 kilometers. It challenges participants to overcome physical and psychological barriers. The focus remains on long-term wellness rather than competitive achievement. Ankita Konwar described the award as a reflection of growing millennial health awareness. She emphasized fitness as a lifelong commitment rather than a temporary goal.
