Nalanda Sahodaya Inter-School Sports Meet Ends with Thrilling Kabaddi and Cricket Finals

The ten-day Nalanda Sahodaya Inter-School Sports Meet concluded with a vibrant grand finale marked by excitement, competition, and strong sportsmanship. The final matches of kabaddi and cricket delivered high-energy performances, keeping spectators engaged until the very end.

The closing ceremony was inaugurated by Bihar Police Association President Mrityunjay Kumar Singh, Airtel Marketing Head Vishal Kumar Singh, Kabaddi Association President Vijay Kumar Singh, Dr. Radhika, Amit Prakash, R.K. Poddar, Rubina Nisaat, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Nalanda Sahodaya Cluster President Arvind Kumar Singh, Secretary Ashish Ranjan, Dr. Ravichandra, Aman Kumar, and other distinguished guests.

Daffodil Claims Kabaddi Title, St. Mary’s Barbigha Wins Cricket Trophy

Kabaddi action began with the third-place match between Mount Litera Zee School and All Saints’ School. Mount Litera Zee School secured third position with a confident performance. The kabaddi final saw Daffodil Public School face RPS Kachahari, where Daffodil dominated from the outset. By halftime, Daffodil had built a strong 31–10 lead and went on to win the match 49–31, claiming the championship. RPS Kachahari’s Priya was awarded Best Defender, while Daffodil’s Shalini received the Best Raider honor.

In the cricket final, RPS School Maknapur won the toss and chose to field. Batting first, St. Mary’s English School, Barbigha, delivered an explosive performance, scoring 230 runs in 14 overs. Captain Mayank led from the front with a brilliant 113 off 37 balls, including 13 sixes and 8 fours. Ishan contributed a rapid 81 from 32 balls. Chasing the steep target, RPS Maknapur fought hard but managed 217 runs, falling short by 13 runs. St. Mary’s Barbigha lifted the championship trophy after a closely contested match.

Focus on Sports Culture and Student Development

Despite the cool weather, spectator enthusiasm remained high throughout the matches. The energy, discipline, and teamwork displayed by students made the event memorable.

Nalanda Sahodaya Cluster President Arvind Kumar Singh said the objective of the cluster is to encourage holistic development through sports. He praised the discipline and sportsmanship shown by the players. Bihar Police Association President Mrityunjay Kumar Singh noted that such tournaments strengthen leadership skills, teamwork, and self-confidence among students.

Daffodil Public School’s kabaddi champion Shalini credited the team’s success to collective effort and coaching support. St. Mary’s English School cricket captain Mayank said consistent teamwork and crowd support played a key role in their victory.

The event concluded with winners and runners-up receiving trophies and certificates. Organizers announced plans to expand the tournament further in the coming year.
