IPL Auction 2025 Live: Updates on the Most Anticipated Event

Marquee Players Steal the Spotlight

The IPL Auction 2025 is gearing up with marquee players like Rishabh Pant, Mitchell Starc, KL Rahul, Jos Buttler, Shreyas Iyer, and Arshdeep Singh ready to go under the hammer first. Other star names in the marquee list include Kagiso Rabada, Yuzvendra Chahal, Liam Livingstone, David Miller, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj. These big names are expected to spark intense bidding wars.

IPL Auction 2025 Live: A Historic Venue

For the first time in IPL history, the auction is being held outside India, in Saudi Arabia. The iconic Abady Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, with a capacity of 15,000, will host the event. This marks Saudi Arabia’s ambitious move to establish itself as a global sports destination, aligning with their Vision 2034 plans.

IPL Auction 2025 Live: RTM Card with a Twist

The Right to Match (RTM) card is back with an exciting new rule. While teams can retain their former players by matching the final bid, this year, the highest bidders can raise their bids after the RTM is invoked. This ensures that securing a player is even more competitive.

Example: If PBKS bids ₹15 crore for Rishabh Pant and DC invokes the RTM, PBKS can counter by increasing their bid to ₹17 crore. DC can only retain Pant if they match the ₹17 crore figure.

IPL Auction 2025 Live: Schedule

The auction will take place over two days, November 24 and 25, starting at 3:30 PM IST (10 AM GMT) each day. This timing syncs perfectly with the conclusion of the Test match between India and Australia in Perth.
