Biharsharif
An atmosphere filled with emotion and inspiration unfolded at the RPS Group of Schools, Kachahari Road, Biharsharif, on Friday, as noted mountaineer and social activist P. Sameera Khan interacted with girl students. Her honest thoughts on self-worth, independence, and equality resonated strongly, leaving many students visibly moved and reflective about their own journeys.
Speaking to the students, Sameera Khan stressed that while social change is slow, personal transformation begins within. “Stop defining yourself by gender. Remember that you are a human being first,” she said, urging students to choose confidence and self-reliance over fear. She shared her personal story of losing her mother at the age of nine and being raised by a single father who instilled strong values and courage in her. That foundation, she explained, helped her enter the demanding world of mountaineering.

Confidence Over Conformity
The session evolved into an open dialogue rather than a formal lecture. Sameera Khan openly addressed issues such as patriarchy, social pressure, dowry, gender discrimination, and mental stress. She emphasized that identity should never be dictated by religion, clothing, or social expectations.
“Faith may differ, but humanity and actions matter most,” she said, adding that personal choices—whether related to attire or lifestyle—should be respected. She strongly appealed to parents to avoid burdening children with unrealistic expectations. According to her, emotional pressure slowly erodes confidence and limits growth, while parental encouragement builds resilience.
She also highlighted inequality in education, pointing out how girls are often judged more harshly for mistakes. “Mistakes are part of learning. We are humans, not machines,” she reminded the students.
Responding to questions, she concluded with a powerful message: “Confidence is your true beauty. Your appearance does not define your potential. Your belief in yourself does.”
Students including Mansi Anand, Shivangi, Nisha, Priya Swaraj, Ananya, Shraddhi Shahi, Ayesha Sadaf, and Madiha actively participated in the discussion.

Beyond the Classroom: Dreams With Purpose
Originally from Andhra Pradesh, P. Sameera Khan is a graduate in Sociology and Environmental Science. Through her initiative ‘Mission Mount Everest – Rural Girl Empowerment,’ she aims to inspire girls across rural India. She plans a solo cycling campaign nationwide, aspires to climb Mount Everest via the Tibet route, and hopes to establish a rock-climbing fitness center in Goa.
As the program concluded, the students displayed renewed confidence and ambition.
RPS Group of Schools Director Arvind Kumar Singh described the session as transformative. “This was not merely a guest talk. It awakened courage and self-belief in our students. Stories like Sameera Khan’s teach lessons no textbook can offer. Our goal is to shape individuals who think independently, question fearlessly, and stand strong for their dreams.”
Several teachers, staff members, and police personnel, including Rajnandani, Yashpal Singh, and ASI Sushil Kumar Paswan, were present during the event.
