Early Life and Sporting Passion
Saloni was born on 20 February 2003 in Barhana, Jhajjar, Haryana. From a young age, she developed a strong interest in boxing. Her elder brother, a boxer, inspired her deeply. She began her training in the village at the same place as her brother. Later, she continued boxing at school. However, the school did not provide adequate support. Despite challenges, her interest in boxing remained strong. Her confidence was shaken, but her determination stayed firm.

Transition of Interests
Over time, her dreams began to shift. Boxing slowly turned into a hobby. Her interest gradually moved toward films. She spent her free time watching movies. Korean films especially fascinated her with their detailed storytelling. This growing interest led her toward film direction. The South Korean film Okja played a major role in inspiring her. Directed by Bong Joon-ho, the film left a deep impact. She watched many of his works and found a new goal. She decided to become a film director.
Family Resistance and Acceptance
When Saloni shared her ambition, her family initially resisted. They encouraged her to prepare for a government job. In rural areas, the film industry is often viewed as unsafe. This belief is stronger when it comes to girls. Saloni felt discouraged but did not give up. She explained her passion and career goals clearly. After some time, her family agreed to support her decision.

Finding the Right Direction
The next challenge was understanding the path to filmmaking. She had many doubts about courses and requirements. Being a native Haryanvi speaker, she feared communication barriers. She searched online to learn about filmmaking education. During her search, she found Arunuj Filmmaking and Acting School in Delhi. After reading reviews, she decided to visit personally. The visit gave her confidence in the institute. She found it affordable and suitable for her needs.
Practical Learning Experience
The course included a six-day residential filmmaking workshop. Everything felt new and challenging at first. Mentors guided students through every step. Sessions covered scriptwriting, production, and filmmaking basics. Students were given a challenge to create a short film within 36 hours.

Early Achievement in Direction
Saloni collaborated with Pranatap Mishra during the workshop. Together, they created a short film titled Wapsi. The film received appreciation during the workshop. It also won the Best Director award at the “Saath Jiyo International Film Festival.”
Exploring Acting and Industry Exposure
During the workshop, Saloni also explored acting for the first time. She worked in the film College Bullying, directed by Vaibhav Sharma. Her co-actors included Adira and Anisha. Anisha had prior experience in theater and web series projects.
Expanding Career Opportunities
After the workshop, Saloni continued attending classes in Dwarka Mor, Delhi. She later received another opportunity in the film industry. She worked as a costume assistant in the film Faujan. The film featured Sapna Choudhary and was directed by Satyendra Singh Sherawat. The 40-day schedule provided valuable practical exposure. She gained deeper insights into various aspects of filmmaking.
