Bihar Sharif: In a meaningful step toward spreading social awareness, Helping Hand Nalanda conducted a menstrual hygiene and women’s empowerment program at Middle School, Kagzi Mohalla. The initiative aimed to educate adolescent girls about menstrual health, hygiene practices, and their rights, helping them become more informed and confident.

Educating Girls on Menstrual Hygiene
During the session, the organization’s girls’ team guided students on the proper use of sanitary pads and their importance in maintaining hygiene. Bharti Kumari, a team member, explained in detail how to use sanitary pads correctly, the ideal time to change them, and the need for personal cleanliness during menstruation. The information was shared in an easy-to-understand and practical way.

Challenging Myths & Encouraging Confidence
The team made it clear that menstruation is a natural process, not an illness. They addressed common myths and encouraged students to overcome the stigma attached to it. The discussion also focused on empowering girls through education, self-confidence, independence, and awareness of their rights.

Student Engagement & Ongoing Efforts
The program saw enthusiastic participation from the students, who asked questions and interacted freely to clear their doubts. The team motivated them to speak openly about their concerns, helping reduce hesitation and build confidence.
